30 days into October

The little golden beech wood
where I often go to think,
autumn moisture in the air
says yes to times of change,
and yet beside the entrance,
still hanging on to summer
lavender scented memories
of warmer times when there.

Alone but not lonely

The sun lights up the blinds
that are the bars to my insideness
and yet this morning I am free
for there is only me.

27 days into October

Watching my silver birch shed it’s yellow leaves got me thinking about the graceful twirls and turns of each leaf as it makes it’s release now summer is over. I too am trying to let go of summer gracefully and cosying up to rest awhile.

after the last waltz
dancers leave the summer ball
pirouette to rest

22 days into October

Somehow it happened

an inpromptu gathering

after walk and tea.

Fresh air, fun and family

life can be good without plans.

11 days into October

firmly touch the earth
everytime to take a step
your time here is brief

bubbles holding rainbows burst
blink and the colours escape

8 days into October

Just a little ditty
I am not in the city
I am spending a few days in Wales
trees are in autumn dress
it’s lovely I confess
I am spending a few days in Wales
the weather is fair
warm and still, not a care
I am spending a few days in Wales
just following orders
taking time without borders
I am spending a few days in Wales

it’s poetry day

5 days into October

diamond cut crystal
in the west window gives me
rainbows where I sit

much earlier in the day
after autumn equinox

On the 1st day of October

The golden rose still blooming
on the first day of October
clinging onto warmer memories
still scents the autumn air.

Now in the twilight of the year
in my dreams of past and future
rosebuds still open slowly
unfolding seasons of my life.
