From tiny beginnings to oceans I discovered the world in words

13 days into September

A ‘sedoka’ written after a long evening storm.

The wrath of nature
bright electric sky lights up
torrential rain flash flooding.
Forget childhood fear
counting seconds, Mother’s miles
before the rolling thunder.

  1. I enjoyed the storms we had yesterday or day before now. Lovely capture.

  2. This reminded me of something I’d forgotten, our mother telling us to count and see how many miles away the thunder was to ease our fears – thank you. Chris.
