From tiny beginnings to oceans I discovered the world in words

28 days into July

wheel spray lifts a swirling mist
car travels on cloud burst
this wet motorway journey
home gutter overflows
rain drums on car roof-
my fingers tapping
I wait for a lull to get out-
no luck
pouring rain-
around my boots

  1. Love this as a haiku!

    pouring rain-
    around my boots

But without the hyphen, so maybe with an N–dash?

    pouring rain–
    around my boots

    warm regards,

  3. It’s a North Wales trip then?

  4. Love this, so atmospheric. Loving those clouds around your boots!

  5. I love these especially how you’ve woven in the clouds and in the opening haiku, the spray.
