Crysanthemum

The core of beauty

lies within

spooning petals

autumn shades

spreading wide

caves of shadows

lure tiny insects

into safe retreat.

.

Petal throats open lips

swallow raindrops

moistem stamen

stacked with golden

pollen promise

above the shadows

bees, butterflies

collect, feed, retreat.
