6 days into March

air seems lighter now

spring teases us all
trees scribble against the sky

The core of beauty

lies within

spooning petals

autumn shades

spreading wide

caves of shadows

lure tiny insects

into safe retreat.

Petal throats open lips

swallow raindrops

moistem stamen

stacked with golden

pollen promise

above the shadows

bees, butterflies

collect, feed, retreat.

1 day into March

continual snow
cancels our first planned meeting-
