From tiny beginnings to oceans I discovered the world in words

Flamingoes (tanka)

Standing on one leg
with their necks neatly knotted,
flamingoes resting.

Sleepy heads lay on their backs,
feathered wings, feathered pillows.

  1. So interesting to see a flock. And then you walk in the neighborhood and see their gaudy replicas. I actually saw one the other day that looked quite realistic. But of course they are not native where I am.

  2. They are native here Jules, I was at a nature reserve where they have a collection of waterfowl. Thanks for reading and commenting.
